23. Carnival in Tenerife

Rhythm, colour, abandon and –of course– breathtaking spectacle. Come and enjoy the fun and high spirits in the Carnival in Santa Cruz de Tenerife: the most “Brazilian” of all those held in Spain and one of the most popular in the world. For a whole fortnight you can experience the high spirits, gay abandon and imagination that invades the streets of this city in the Canary Islands, as it welcomes hundreds and thousands of people coming from every corner of the planet.

24. Celebrate Gay Pride in Madrid

In the last week of June you can see and take part in Gay Pride in Madrid, one of the most popular events of its kind in the world. The city centre fills with rainbow flags and is transformed into a utopia where all kinds of affection are permitted. To see it from up close, you need to go to Chueca, Madrid’s LGBTI+ quarter, which has numerous stages during the event featuring live music and cultural activities.
